Legit He’s This Fit


My husband Chris and I are personal trainers. Chris is a full time trainer and not only is he amazing at what he does, he consistently practices what he preaches. He is also creative, hilarious and understands human behavior better than any therapist I have ever met. He truly is a healthy person inside and out. He is 47 and has abs as evidenced by the picture above. That makes him a fitness expert in my book. I have decided to interview him for my blog.

Me,”Honey, what do you think are the 3 best exercises that most people should do?” Chris replied without hesitation,”Planks, push ups and air squats.”

Me,” What would you want all your clients to know?” Chris,” The importance of good eating habits. You can’t out exercise a bad diet.”

Me,” How important is attitude?” Chris, “I can tell who is going to stick to their fitness routine the day I meet them. It has nothing to do with their age, ability or current condition. If a new client starts listing all the barriers to being able to work out, I know they are looking for a reason to quit before they even get started.”

Me,” How do you motivate clients to stick with their fitness goals?” Chris, ” Don’t take it to serious. It’s a long haul. Don’t expect instant gratification. It’s a commitment. If they fall off, I’m always here to help get them back on track. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being as consistent as possible.”

Me,” What’s the secret to abs?” Chris, “It’s no secret. It’s the same formula to achieve any fitness goal, diet and exercise. Be patient, determined and make healthy choices as frequently as possible. Layoff booze, processed carbs and increase clean proteins.”

    Both of y’all look the part and live the part. This is great — and it ESPECIALLY shows that as you get older you don’t have to give in to that fallacy that metabolism slows down. I think it just needs to be re-booted through better food choices. Great interview!

    Great idea for a post! I enjoyed reading it. I do planks, push ups, and air squats regularly, but I can’t say I’m a fan of any of them. Sigh.

    Love Chris’ summary. He is a wonderful trainer. You both are such great motivation to getting into shape. I have to give Chris an extra big Kudos to the AB photo, I know he’s usually reluctant to showing off his hard work!
