Practice Practice Practice

I have facilitated hundreds of trainings, workshops and conferences. I still remember my first presentation. I didn’t prepare and it lasted 3 seconds. The feeling impacted me forever. What you think public speaking is like and what it’s actually like, are totally different.

Some say I’m a natural. I’m glad it looks that way. However, I practice a lot! I gave an important talk last night. I worked on that speech everyday for the past month! In fact the more presentations I do, the more I work at it!

Working on something challenging is fun! Also necessary if the consequence is public embarrassment!

What do you practice?

Do you practice something to stay on top of your game?

Do you practice something new?

Is there something you want to get good at? You can do it!

Practice, practice, practice!

Thanks! So many don’t prepare, give up too soon, this is a great reminder to us all we need the practice!

I’m not practicing anything myself right now, but my granddaughter is practicing origami. What amazes me about her is how she makes mistakes, unfolds the whole thing and starts over again. I think she worked 2 hours last night making a box with a drawer. It worked! It was a bit crinkled, but she did it. Lol She has such patience. I’m not that patient, I don’t think. Although, I did practice sewing clothes until I got it right.

Just like you, I can do things without preparation if I have to, but other than that: practicing all the time and learning every day.
