Not When I’m Fat

I ran into a friend I hadn’t seen in years the other day. I told her, I checked her Facebook page a couple times and didn’t see anything. She replied, “You know I don’t post when I’m fat.”
It made me think about what we put on hold until…

Until I have more money, I will do this.

Until I finish school, I won’t do that.

Until I lose weight, I won’t …
Are you waiting to live fully until you lose weight?

Will you be more deserving of joy when the number on the scale is lower?

This kind of postponing feels like punishment.

Some of us fear if we truly accept, love and display our larger versions of ourselves, that means we will stop trying.

Improvement is an ongoing process. We actually achieve more when we feel good! It is possible to both accept yourself as you are and continue to move forward. This is what life is all about. Guess what? You will never actually “get there.” Once the number says what you want it to say, it’s just as much work to maintain it. Let’s enjoy the journey and post a less than perfect pic once in a while.

Yes, couldn’t agree more. Otherwise our life will be perpetually put on hold.

Great post! As my husband loves to say, “It is what it is!” Now that’s acceptance!
