Makes Me Love You More

Last May we picked up our adorable Saint Bernard puppy. Yesterday we were given the news all giant dog owners dread. Valentino was diagnosed with “extreme hip dysplasia”. The vet told us V’s hips are as bad as it gets, and it’s a progressive disease. My husband’s response brought a tear to my eye, “I will make him a cart.” I can picture the bad ass wagon he would create. Maybe something our other dog Angelo could drag Valentino around in. Fortunately there are numerous medical interventions to consider, like total hip replacement surgery. 
We don’t feel cheated, or mad that we ended up with a dog with issues. V’s condition makes us love him more. We will deal with the situation, focus on the positive and continue to be thankful for each day we get to enjoy our big furry bundle of joy.
